DGFT-SCOMET Registration

·         The words Special Chemicals, Organisms, Materials, Equipment, and Technologies are abbreviated as SCOMET. This list includes products that are regarded as dual-use, such as technology, chemicals, living things, and other items that have the potential to be used for both military and civilian purposes and that could be used as weapons of mass destruction. (WMDs).

·         SCOMET is the acronym for "Special Chemicals, Organisms, Materials, Equipment, and Technologies." It alludes to a list of goods that the Indian government has restricted for export. Products including dual-use items, delicate technologies, biological agents, chemicals, and specialized equipment are all included in the SCOMET list. These laws aim to protect national security by limiting the spread of technologies and sensitive materials and by preventing their improper use.

Process of DGFT-SCOMET Registration

The Online Application (Form ANF 2N)

All applications are filed through the DGFT Website.

1.    Log in using your IEC credentials.

2.    Navigate to Services > Export Management System > SCOMET.

3.    Fill out Form ANF 2N (Application for Export of SCOMET items).

1.  Identify SCOMET Classification

Determine whether your product falls under the SCOMET list

·         Identify the correct SCOMET Category (0–8)

·         Department of Defence Production (DDP)

·         DRDO and other relevant technical agencies.

Submit End User Certificate (EUC)

·         Must be issued by the foreign buyer

·         Should clearly mention end-use and non-transfer clause

Clarifications

·         DGFT or other authorities may ask for additional information

·         Timely response is important to avoid delays

Grant of SCOMET License

·         After successful review, DGFT issues the SCOMET Export Authorization

·         License includes validity period and export conditions

·         PAN Card of the company
